Bomb procrastination out of your system

At CoSydney, we advocate a simple lifestyle saying : ‘Make Tomorrow Today.’~Vinh Van Lam

Why? Quite often many clients talk a good game but fail to deliver as they claim to be too busy to do things instantly. They procrastinate: they come to live by it and eventually it poisons their passion for business if they can’t find a solution to bomb it out of their system

That’s why we tell them: ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ Five words which sum up a person’s commitment to themselves, their business and business LifeStyle.

You have the power to decide how you spend your time. You have a choice: Bomb the procrastination out of your system and replace it with the habit of taking action. Or stay as you are and wallow in your negativity.

Procrastination is not a disease; it is a behaviour, an attitude, an addiction. If you let it thrive, then it will rot into your business and cause it to fail. So which type of procrastinator are you?

Meticulous over planner: An obsessively organised mind, but incapable of doing anything because they can’t decide a single course of action

Grudge holder: Something has happened in their past and because of a fistful of grudges they are on unable to move on.

Rebel: Rebels don’t commit to systems and dislike routine. They are disorganised and achieve nothing

Fearful: Driven by fear of failure and disapproval. Unable to step out of their comfort zone, they’re afraid of how people see them.

These procrastinators-type can be linked to these feelings, too:

Self-doubt: Second guessing decisions or delaying action. Competent, but feeling insecure. Procrastination means we can avoid that unconfident feeling

Anxiety: Avoiding tasks that are imagined to cause distress or discomfort. Procrastinating means we can avoid that anxious feeling

Guilt: Leaving tasks unfinished creates feelings of guilt. So, not starting tasks means there’s no chance to feel guilt when the job remains undone.

Procrastination can become a habit, a daily routine. The mind goes on auto-pilot and when any challenging tasks arise it states: “It’s too hard” or “There’s no time, I’ll do it later.”

Being honest with yourself means you can take appropriate steps to stop procrastinating. So stop putting off things and complete tasks right away. That demonstrates dedication and enthusiasm to your business.

Procrastination can be reversed, and we can create a habit of action. By setting routines, you can achieve your goals and get those lingering tasks done.

At ArtSHINE, clients set goals that are important. By taking action, we can bomb procrastination out of their routine. By doing it regularly and persistently, it soon fades away.

“What you do must have a purpose, no purpose in what you do will procrastinate your action”
